P&O The Glass House—

Taste the world… one glass at a time

Olly’s wine bar and eatery The Glass House first launched in April 2010 onboard Azura, one of P&O’s largest cruise liners christened that same year.  Since then, The Glass House has won Best Bar at Sea 2011 and 2012 in the Cruise Critic Awards.

Due to its success, a second and third Glass House opened on cruise ships Ventura and Aurora, and in March 2015 Olly’s fourth wine bar launched on board RMS Britannia, Britain’s largest cruise ship. Britannia was named by Her Majesty the Queen in a lavish ceremony on 10th March 2015.

In The Glass House on board Aurora, Azura, Britannia and Ventura, Olly brings the world of wine to you… varieties from all four corners of the globe, by the glass, by the bottle and, if you fancy, right by a plate of fabulous food. There are also helpful suggestions in the menu on how best to match your chosen wine with the food you order.

With a choice of around 40 wines handpicked by Olly, accompanied by a menu of delicious food options, The Glass House is all about elegant informality. It’s a welcoming, charming venue where wine lovers and foodies can relax and unwind.

While wine is the key draw at The Glass House, the bars also stock Olly’s very own Jolly Olly IPA from Harveys Brewery, from his home town Lewes.

Olly appears regularly on board hosting wine tastings, talks and wine dinners and when on board is always happy to help passengers choose a wine to suit them, often introducing them to something they have never tasted before.

Olly has also selected the wine list for Marco Pierre White’s restaurant Ocean Grill aboard P&O’s ship Adonia and blends the Bon Viveur range of wines across the entire fleet of P&O ships.

Olly says, “It’s wonderful to see the growing interest in tasting wines from places off the beaten track and so I’m really excited to be spreading the joy with a great selection of wines to even more passengers, all served by the glass, and kept fresh as a daisy from Enomatic machines. My list includes a Japanese Koshu, a Greek Assyrtiko and plenty of stonking dishes to match. Huzzah!”

The Glass House, IONA – Due to Covid19 the launch of Iona has been postponed, but watch this space for updates.
