P&O The Glass House—
Olly’s wine bar and eatery The Glass House launched in April 2010 onboard Azura, one of P&O’s largest cruise liners christened that same year. Since then, The Glass House has won Best Bar at Sea 2011 and 2012 in the Cruise Critic Awards.
Due to its success, a second and third Glass House have recently opened on cruise ships Ventura. and Aurora, and in March 2015 Olly’s fourth wine bar launched on board RMS Britannia, Britain’s largest cruise ship. Britannia was named by Her Majesty the Queen in a lavish ceremony on 10th March 2015.
The Glass House is a sophisticated and informal haven of good food and excellent wine. The stunning range of 32 wines from around the world have each been handpicked by Olly, each one a complete treat. He has even blended the house wine Porta Palo with a little help from his wine-loving chums in Sicily.
In the Glass House, passengers can relax and enjoy wines by the glass or sample Flights of Wine matched with the exciting menu offered. Olly appears regularly on Azura and Ventura hosting wine tastings and talks and when onboard is always happy to help passengers choose a wine to suit them, often introducing them to something they have never tasted before.
Olly has also selected the wine list for Marco Pierre White’s restaurant Ocean Grill aboard P&O’s latest ship Adonia and blends the Porta Palo range of wines across the entire fleet of P&O ships.
Olly says, “It’s wonderful to see the growing interest in tasting wines from places off the beaten track and so I’m really excited to be spreading the joy with a great selection of 32 wines to even more passengers, all served by the glass, and kept fresh as a daisy from Enomatic machines. My list includes a Japanese Koshu, a Greek Assyrtiko and plenty of stonking dishes to match. Huzzah!”
