Olly is chuffed to be presenting Iron Chef UK for Channel 4, brought to your front rooms from Monday 26th April.
If you don’t already know the show from its hit multiple series in the USA, it’s the cooking show to beat all cooking shows – think Gladiators meets cooking.
Across each week, teams of eager culinary challengers compete with four resident Iron Chefs - Tom Aikens, Martin Blunos, Judy Joo and Sanjay Dwivedi - in the ultimate high-energy cook-off.
Every week, the challengers and Iron Chefs have to prepare four superlative dishes all based on each day’s “special ingredient” – anything from aubergine to octopus. The dishes will then be judged by expert food critics and at the end of each show, a winner is announced.
The week will culminate in a grand Friday Final where the best contenders of the week will go head to head with the strongest Iron Chefs of that week. They will face the toughest of challenges with the most unusual and demanding special ingredients. If the challenger wins this final cook-off, they pocket £1,000.
Presented by Olly, the competition takes place in the “Kitchen Stadium”, an amazing pressure cooker of an arena, and the battle is presided over by “The Chairman”, an enigmatic Japanese ring master who embodies the “ancient heritage” of the competition.
